Race Report: High Point MX
Round 3 of the AMA National Motocross Series in Pennsylvania
Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto scores his
first Motocross win of the year! Ryan Dungey
takes second overall. Chad Reed
third and retains points lead. In 250 MX Lites, Blake Baggett storms to
victory with double moto sweep. Teammate Tyla Rattray second
overall and takes over points lead!

250 MX Lites Moto 1
Number 37, riding a Honda, Darryn Durham is the early
leader. And he's not giving up the first position to any of the 'factory'
riders. Even at the ten lap mark, Durham is still leading! Dean Wilson has
moved into second, Blake Baggett is next, then Tyla Rattray - the Pro Circuit
Kawasaki riders chasing Durham!
Fifth at the ten lap mark is Kyle Cunningham, then Eli Tomac,
Nico Izzi, Malcolm Stewart, Justin Barcia, Broc Tickle, and Cole Seely.
Durham is looking good out front. But looking even better -
Blake Baggett. He just seems to really come to life late in motos. On lap 13,
Baggett passes Durham for the lead!
This race will also go 16 laps. And the winner is ... Blake
Baggett! His teammate Dean Wison moves into second by the checkered flag.
Another Pro Circuit rider - Tyla Rattray finishes in third. Durham finishes
fourth, then Cunningham, Tomac, Izzi, Barcia M Stewart, and Broc Tickle round
out the top ten.

250 MXLites Moto 2
Blake Baggett is continuing his strong riding today. The
muddy track is much different than in the first race, as evident by lap times.
Baggett has run the quickest lap - 2 minutes 24 seconds, and most riders are
averaging around 2 minutes 30 second.
At the five lap mark it's Baggett with the lead, teammate Tyla Rattray
second, Cole Seely on the Honda third, Eli Tomac on Honda fourth, then Justin
Barcia, Broc Tickle, Malcolm Stewart, Alex Martin, Jason Anderson and T Baker
round out the top ten. This race
is going to go 15 laps - and the winner of the race, the overall on the day by
winning both motos - Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett! Tyla Rattray finishes second in
the moto, and second overall. Third
in this moto goes to Eli Tomac, then Broc Tickle, Cole Seely, Alex Martin,
Justin Barcia, Dean Wilson, T Baker, and Malcolm Stewart.
It's a three way battle at the top of the 250 MX Lites class
- all team PC members. Rattray has
taken over the top spot with 127, followed by Wilson at 125, and Baggett at
116.

Motocross Class Moto 1
Looked like Ryan Dungey had the holeshot, but Supercross
Champion Ryan Villopoto is the leader on the first lap. And Villopoto seems to
be on his game - he's pulling away already. At the five lap mark, it's Villopoto out front, Ryan Dungey
is second, Mike Alessi third, Kevin Windham is next, then Jake Weimer, Davi
Millsaps and Chad Reed. And Villopoto,
after 30 minutes plus 2 laps (16 laps total) get his first moto victory of the
Motocross season! He wins! Second goes to Ryan Dungey, then Mike Alessi, Davi
Millsaps, Chad Reed, Kevin Windham, Jake Weimer, Brett Metcalfe, Christian
Craig, and Tommy Hahn.

Motocross Class Moto 2
Although nice and sunny during the first motos, rain can
come at any time in Pennsylvania this time of the year. And here comes the
rain! Mike Alessi, number 800 on the KTM, is the early leader for the first few
laps. Mike, who has ridden the KTM
350 for over one year, has changed to racing the KTM 450 for the outdoor AMA
Motocross Series. On lap five
though, 2011 MX Series points leader Chad Reed passes Mike for the lead.
Running order as they start lap six - Chad Reed first, then Alessi, Ryan
Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, Davi Millsaps, Tommy Hahn, Kevin Windham, and T Bright.
One thing we've noticed in Christophe Pourcel is not racing. Rumor at the
French MX GP last weekend was the Christophe might return to Europe to race a
green bike.
Reed is riding strong out front - at the ten lap mark he has
a 13 second lead over second place Ryan Villopoto. But Villopoto easily has the
overall win locked up if his maintains his position. And Reed will maintain his
series points lead. At ten laps -
Reed first, Villopoto second, then Ryan Dungey, Mike Alessi, Davi Millsaps, and
Kevin Windham. This race goes 14
laps, and Chad Reed is the winner! Second goes to Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey third. Fourth is Mike Alessi, then Windham,
Ricky Dietrich, Tommy Hahn, Nick Wey, Brett Metcalfe, and Jake Weimer.
Overall results of the day have Villopoto winning, Ryan
Dungey second, Chad Reed third. After three rounds - Reed on top with 138, Villopoto second
with 123, and Dungey third with 111.
